A Typical Paint Job is Rather Involved...

OK, lets tackle a typical paint and body job done in the course of a typical restoration. I will skip vehicle-specific operations, and try to keep it generalized.

I will assume that we have already torn down the car to its basic metalwork as part of a complete frame-off.  We should be left with a bare shell, doors, bonnet and boot lid off, and everything that can be unbolted removed. Depending upon whether other work is being performed, we may or may not have the suspension still in place. If not, we rig the car up on a purpose-dolly made out of steel tubing and a set of casters.
