This is also a very good shot of the infamous "Gray-Green" engine and firewall plate of the early TCs. We matched the color to an unsullied sample still remaining under the engine cable box.
I had long suspected that the wide range of colors seen on early cars was caused by the factory using surplus military paint. Turns out my theory was true when someone piped up on the forums one day, telling about how he used to top up the paint buckets with either RA Green or RN Gray, trying to keep the color somewhere in the middle...
