Modified Rear Bumpers

Next

I always thought that the placement of the over-riders on MGBs was silly. They are always getting in the way of the fuel cap.  I finally realized that they are placed that far apart only so that they can straddle a long British license plate.  On this side of the pond, we don't have such enormous plates.

I weld up the original holes and place captive studs in the correct location to fit the original brackets.  I move the over-riders inboard and drill holes in a much more appealing spot. Then I have the bumpers professionally re-chromed.

Now, there is lots of space to get at the fill cap and I think the narrower spacing makes the car look longer and faster. Its all part of our attention to detail!
