The Good:

A virtually rust-free California car.

Great running engine, with recent cylinder head rebuild.

External cylinder head oil supply

Converted to HIF44 carbs from flaky Strombergs, stainless cable throttle instead of ridiculous bell-crank affair, K&N filters on spun aluminum housings

Distributor rebuilt by Jeff at Advanced Distributors.

Rebuilt brake system.

All gauges, switches, lights, everything works!

Rare early seat design, headrests fold flat under tonneau!

Hood replaced 3 years ago. Original tonneau still nice.

Clear title, registered as Collector Car in Washington.

The Not-So-Good (We're honest at BR)

Right front fender has been replaced and slight inner fender deformation from an accident at some point, reasonably well-done repair work. Could be made invisible with a bit of TLC.

Dent in driver's floor from jack/rock/something, haven't dealt with it yet.

Front bumper missing its little tubular trim bar.

Surface rust in battery area, boot floor, but no real rot that I can find.

Truly awful red paint job. The pictures don't do it justice, it was a rainy day. :-)

Summing Up:

This is a truly wonderful little car to drive as it is, and you could not ask for a better start for a full restoration, were you so inclined at a later date. The interior is a bit tired, but mostly there. And, it is virtually rust-free!  Most TRs have a fair amount of body rot, but this one doesn't!  The bare shell alone is probably worth the asking price of $4750, and for that you get a complete running, driving TR6!
